Stefanos Tsialis and opera stars Petra Lang and Stefan Vinke in Athens – “Tristan and Isolde” 2nd Act
On 21 February the Athens State Orchestra will present the second act of Richard Wagners opus summum “Tristan and Isolde” in the Megaron with an exceptional cast: Petra Lang will sing Isolde and Stefan Vinke Tristan – both long-term singers at the Wagner Festival Bayreuth.
Since 2014, Stefanos Tsialis has been Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Athens State Orchestra and has been managing all the time to bring prominent guest artists and courageous musical projects to Athens. Martha Argerich, Maxim Vengerov or Vladimir Ashkenazy, as well as Christoph Eschenbach and Vladimir Fedoseyev have already been in Athens. And now it is the turn of Petra Lang and Stefan Vinke!
Only some days ago, NAXOS launched the first set of recordings of the Athens State Orchestra with oeuvres of Nikos Skalkottas under his baton. Borne in Greece and with Danish roots, Stefanos Tsialis has developed an impressive international career and directed over 80 orchestras to date, worldwide.
Friday, 21 February, promises to become an exciting evening and further interesting events and projects will follow.
