Being originally an actor, the French – Greek Baritone studied in Paris at L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Techniques du Théâtre and Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Afterwards he began his vocal studies at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris with Mireille Alcantara. He discovered his passion for opera through Sergej Larin who was also his first singing teacher. Nicolas has won several singing awards, the last one 2017 at the International Singing Competition of Budapest with his interpretation of King Sha of Martyna Kosecka’s Sha-Klotho. Furthermore he takes lessons with Peter Mattei, Diana Damrau and Michael Volle.

Der französische Bariton griechischer Abstammung absolvierte zunächst ein Schauspielstudium an der Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Techniques du Theatre Paris und an der Royal Academy of Dramatic Art London. Anschließend begann er sein Gesangsstudium am Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris bei Mireille Alcantara, ergänzt von Studien bei seinem langjährigen Mentor Sergej Larin und bei Mirella Freni. Seine gesangliche Entwicklung begleiten bis heute Peter Mattei, Diana Damrau, Michael Volle und weiterhin Mireille Alcantara.
Nicolas Rigas ist Gewinner zahlreicher Gesangswettbewerbe, zuletzt der Budapest International Music Competition mit seiner Interpretation des King Sha aus Sha-Klotho von Martyna Kosecka.
